COVID Policy

Members attend Planetfall events at their own risk. The Oxford LARP Society is taking all practicable precautions to minimise the risks of attending events in-person during the current situation.

Due to the requirement to control the transmission risk of coronavirus, the following rules changes and modifications are currently in effect. These are temporary changes which are not subject to the standard rules-change process and will be reverted when restrictions are no longer necessary. They are subject to change without notice.

  • Members MUST NOT attend if:
    • they experience any symptoms of COVID-19
    • they have a positive test result
    • they are self-isolating
    • they receive a notification of exposure from the NHS COVID-19 app.
  • Attendees must be vaccinated, or must have an exemption.
  • Members are advised to carry out a test before attending events.
  • Attendees can travel as preferred, either by public transport or car-sharing.
    • Arranging car-sharing will be available on the Oxford LARP Society Discord Server.
  • All events should meet at Shotover directly
    • There will be no requirement to go to a cafe or pub before or after a LARP. Any downtime discussions will either happen at Shotover or by email at the joint preference of the GMs, Players, and anyone they are reliant on for transport.
  • Props must be cleaned before being used by someone else using antibacterial wipes.
    • Players and Monsters will be encouraged to select a loadout and stick with it for the duration of the LARP, and Missions will be designed to minimise weapon-swapping.
  • Food: attendees should not share food or drinks. Currently, attendees should bring their own lunch and drink.
    • We will aim to keep a supply of small individual water bottles in the club kit, but attendees should ideally bring plenty of their own as we cannot guarantee that the club kit supply will always be available.
  • Hygiene: hand sanitiser and wipes will be available and should be used frequently.
  • Attendees must provide contact details (minimum name and email) for each event attended to support contact tracing.
    • Attendees must report positive COVID-19 tests or instructions to self-isolate which occur within 14 days of attending an event to the GM or Refs.
  • Face masks are not required but can be worn as desired.
  • Specific policies and preferences to be outlined for events, according to current circumstances.
  • This will be expanded on as and when indoor events occur.
